Objective
Use this OpMon model to monitor the indicators of a network printer through SNMP. This is compatible with SNMP v2c.
Target Audience
Administrators which needs monitor the printers health.
Prerequisites
- OpMon 7.0 or superior;
- Have the OpMon installed
- Have the SNMP active on printers.
Available Services
- Load: This services monitors the printers load.
- Misc_Alerts: This service monitors the several alerts which can be with the printer, for example: open cover.
- Output: This service verifies if the printer output are full or close to be full.
- Paper: This service verifies the amount of paper on tray.
- Status: This service verifies the printer state.
- Supply: This service verifies if everything is OK with power plugs.
- Toner: This service verifies the amount of tint available on toners.
- Tray: This service verifies the printer tray.
- Uptime: This services verifies the Printer Uptime.
Applying the Monitoring Model
Now, on the hosts or services management area, click on “+” icon to add a new Host, like the image below:
In this area, select the Printer Model Category:
Then click on “Use This Model” on Printer Model:
This model must be applied on Printer host. If you wish add a new host, click on “Add a new host manually”:
In this area insert the relative information about the Host and click in “Create a new host”:
In this area, with the host selected click in “Next”:
Then you will see an screen like below, where it is needed specify the community from SNMP:
After concludes the definition of services, advance to the revision area of included services. Enjoy to observes which be possible expand the revision area of hosts and services, just click on “+” icon, like below:
As you can see, in this area it is possible to make changes if necessary. When the definitions are make, just click in “Finalize” to conclude the model application process.
